Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
It's the most compact apochromatic refractor we've ever offered! So the EON 72mm ED should be great news to anyone looking for an ultra-portable, premium-quality telescope a whether for visual use or imaging. The EON 72ED houses apochromatic optics made from extra-low dispersion glass in a machined aluminum tube assembly with deluxe features from end to end. The 430mm focal length provides a zippy f-ratio of 6.0. Fully multi-coated optics maximize light transmission, and interior baffles and a retracting lens shade/dew shield eliminate unwanted glare. Like all EON instruments, the 72ED has a beautifully machined and rotatable Crayford-type 2" focuser with a removable 1.25" insert. Dual-speed focusing knobs provide an 11:1 fine-focusing ratio for obtaining the sharpest images. The scope has an integrated L-shaped mounting base that fits the dovetail saddle of Orion telescope mounts. The base also has 1/4"-20 threaded holes to allow attachment to a standard field tripod. At just 12.5" long with the lens shade retracted, this is a telescope you can truly take anywhere, including on an airliner as carry-on. It comes with a custom, foam-fitted hard case with carrying handle. Considering the EON 72ED's awesome optics and exquisite fit and finish, its price is surprisingly affordable. Weighs 5 lbs., 3 oz. One-year limited warranty.
