3 out of 5 stars Not sturdy or durable   January 3, 2009
Targeteer
I bought this printer 20 months ago and have used it only on weekends. I like it for printing on card stock--the colors are true, without using the expensive 99 photo cartridge (which does, when used, make nice photo prints on glossy paper). I have never liked the way it shakes when printing. Last week, in the middle of Christmas-card making, it stopped printing yellow. I changed the cartridge; the left cartridge light flashed and is still flashing. Nothing recommended--swabbing the cartridges, plugging and unplugging--can get the light to stop flashing or the printer to start printing. (Both the old and new cartridges, by the way, worked fine on this printer's twin at my office.) After an hour of on-line chat with "Phillips" at HP, who didn't know much, he determined what I already suspected, which is that this is an out-of-warranty hardware problem, which means that the printer is dead. Seems like an early demise for a machine that has been so lightly used. All that said, I will probably stick with HP (6988) because I have invested in cartridges. They really get you coming and going--printers that are worth even less than what you pay for them plus ink that costs an arm and a leg.

5 out of 5 stars All good!   November 6, 2008

This HP device is another good one. 2 sided printing capabilities, WIFI , Ethernet , USB and an easy driver setup will help you print a lot of pages.

My only problem is that the ethernet drivers are not supported in XP x64 (but they support Vista x64).

5 out of 5 stars Excellent WiFi Printer   August 8, 2008

I now own two of these printers. I bought the one for home and another for the office. HP tech support was great help in getting the WiFi setup (even for a purchased refurb!) and once done, they have been solid. So great to be able to print from my laptop from anywhere in the house! And I think this printer comes at a very reasonable cost for a WiFi printer. Highly recommended!

5 out of 5 stars Don't listen to the whiners - it's a great printer   August 5, 2008

Installation is easy if one merely follows the directions. The people writing about problems with the wireless setup are simply inept. I had it set up in ten minutes - nothing could be simpler. The print quality is great. Mine came with an additional 250 page tray and the two-sided printing feature which are listed as "optional" in the user's guide. I've got all four of my wireless computers connected and everything is perfect! Great printer!

This is an excellent printer with superb print quality (both B&W and Color) and speed. Wireless printing is masterful and setup is extremely easy!!!! I am completely happy and would highly recommend!

Good luck with your purchase.
