great point and shoot camera September 7, 2010 C. Greene (Lebanon, PA United States) We have had this camera for a while now and are very happy with it. The battery has a very long life even if we do not use it for an extended period of time. There is no lag from the time you push the button to the time the picture is actually taken. Our other camera is a Canon SLR so to say that we are happy with anything less is a big deal. As with all camera if you zoom into the digital zoom things start to look funny. It is best to get close by using your feet instead of the zoom. low light shots are good compared to most that I have seen with similar cameras. I would definitely recommend this camera for those that want high quality shots with good portability.
Image stabilization is excellent September 5, 2010 puneet saini I had a Canon 7MP elph camera before this one, and had to replace it. This one has excellent features, is lighter and better picture quality than my last one. Image stabilization is great. I tried shaking the camera while taking a picture just to see how it works. The picture was not fuzzy at all. Its really a great buy if you are looking for a light, small camera that can go with you anywhere. Enjoy!
Canon Powershot SD1200IS camera review September 5, 2010 P. E. Malon (St. Louis, MO) The camera arrived promptly, however; upon using it I found that it had an annoying issue. When turned on in the "auto" program, the lens constantly made noise and the lens would try and focus repeatedly until the shutter button was held down and ultimately take the photo. This did not occur in any other mode.
I returned the camera as I was unsure if it was defective or my dissatisfaction.
Additionally, as other reviewers noted the viewfinder is too small and useless.
Great camera September 3, 2010 horngeke 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
It works well. It has all the features I desire in a small camera and still takes VERY good pictures at near SLR quality levels.
