Product Description The Tokina AT-X 124 AF PRO DX lens is Tokina's first lens designed with an APS-C sized sensor. This lens gives the Digital Photographer an ultra wide-angle zoom lens that has the equivalent of an 18-36mm zoom range on a 35mm film camera while maintaining a bright constant aperture of f/4. Non-rotating 77mm filter threads mean special effect filters will not change when the lens' focus is changed. Fast internal focusing with Tokina's One-Touch focus clutch mechanism allows the lens to AF focus faster and switching between auto and manual focus is as easy as snapping the focus ring back and forth. 2 sharp-cut aspherical elements accurately correct aspherical aberration usually associated with ultra-wide angle lenses. Bright, constant f/4 aperture allows plenty of light to enter the camera for shooting in a wide variety of photographic situations. A chrome-plated brass mount plate and all-metal zoom unit can stand up to regular use, while an advanced polycarbonate outer lens barrel reduces the weight of the lens, making it a pleasure to carry. Dimensions - 3.3 x 3.5 (84x89.5mm) Weight - 20.1 ounces (570 grams)

Great Wide-Angle Lens September 27, 2008 William D. Dobbs Sr. (Barboursville, WV United States) This is a great lens. I use it with a Nikon D300, taking pictures of landscapes and portraits. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a wide-angle lens at a decent price. It is built like a tank.
Sharp, Built Well September 15, 2008 Careen Through the Universe This excellent lens by Tokina is well worth the 470 price tag. Capture extremely wide angle photographs for half the price of the Nikon 12-24. It is sharp, reliable and built incredibly well.
Great third party lens! July 11, 2008 Shi P. Wen (MN USA) I think this is great product for 3rd party lens. I used it for Nikon D300, and it works great. When I bought this lens, the 116 was not released yet, but even for now, I think I still buy this instead. Because this one can use for FX camera, and it has better range. This is great for travel, but you do need the 24-70 with you when you travel, because sometime you are just too far from the object, and 70-200 is too heavy for travel.
Tokina 12-24 May 14, 2008 A. Stanislawiii (Shawangunks NY) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
Tack razor sharp where it counts even on the high res D300. Corners are a little soft at wide open, but not enough to even take notice unless you pixel peeping. Solid and robust build. Feels like I'm holding one of my $$$$ Nikkor pro lenses. Finally super wide on DX.
Everything I was looking for April 16, 2008 M. Simerson (Seattle, WA usa) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I had done research on the DX wide angle lenses and this one was rated extremely well. So I coughed up the cash. As always, purchasing through Amazon is fast and easy and I got a good price. The lens is exactly what I hoped it would be. I've taken a bunch of great shots with it already.
