Product Description SanDisk Extreme III CompactFlash is designed for serious professional photographers who demand one of the fastest, most rugged and most durable memory cards on the market. Professional photographers who work under less than ideal conditions expect more from a flash memory card. More speed. More performance. More reliability. SanDisk's Extreme III card delivers everything you want plus a whole lot more. That's because only SanDisk Extreme III memory cards feature innovative ESP technology for the fastest speeds and highest performance. ESP stands for "Enhanced Super-Parallel Processing". Simply put, it means you are getting the fastest read / write speeds available, speed you'll definitely appreciate whenever you find yourself shooting and storing pictures in harsh environments, extreme temperatures or at high altitudes.

San Disk CF for DSLR use August 4, 2008 Don Nicholson (Baltimore, MD USA) I bought this memory card for a Canon 40D DSLR and am very happy to see that it keeps up w/ my burst (3-5 shots) shooting. Almost as soon as I stop taking the photos, with in 2-4 seconds, the read/write light goes out. Use of a Ultra II in my older Canon Digital Rebel was very slow to write. But that could have been a function of the camera vs the CF card. I haven't tested the two for speed.
Not all Extreme IIIs are the same July 18, 2008 AH-1Z (Sacramento, CA USA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Note that this 4 GB Extreme III through Amazon, although having a "list" price about the same as those sold by Amazon's partners is somewhat more expensive than what the partners are selling it for
The partners are mostly selling the SDCFX3-4096-901 while Amazon is selling the SDCFX3-004G-A31. The latter is newer and writes 50% faster. That's why the sales price is more. Which one you should get depends on how fast your camera is and whether the speed is worth the extra cost to you.
big enough - fast enough June 30, 2008 Peter A (Troy, MI USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Good balance between changing cards constantly & "putting all your eggs in one basket". Don't know what's happening internally but I'm expecting it is safe & secure because it is a Sandisk Extreme. In the documentation it's a side note, but for speed this is the 200x between the old 133x & the Extreme IV 300x.

I have purchased this CF card about a month ago and its simply amazing. The read and write speed is a lot faster than my previous SimpleTech 1gb memory card. There's no slowdown or hiccup on my Canon EOS Rebel XTi when shooting continuously in RAW or JPEG. It's an excellent card for shooting at a sports event and I would recommend this card to anyone upgrading their old CF card.
