This is a professional muslin backdrop made from a heavier 100% cotton material. The 10X20' size (actually about 9X18' after shrinkage) weighs 6.4lbs. Prism premium cotton muslin backdrops are offered in three standard sizes: 10X20' (actually 9X18', 6.4lbs) 10X12' (actually 9X10.8', 3.8lbs) and 6X10' (actually 5.7X9', 2.0 lbs). The two larger sizes are available in standard folded or new rolled packaging. Special dyes are used to obtain well saturated colors which appear vibrant and not washed out. Additionally, the cotton material is chemically treated resulting in a heavier, more canvas-like feel. All sides are stitched to avoid unravelling and a 4" rod pocket is sewn into the top. Each muslin is folded and comes in a plastic bag to avoid moisture and stainage and then each bag is packed in a cardboard box for shipping. Because of the brighter dyes used and chemical treatment, Prism backdrops are not machine washable. Prism backdrops, especially pattern and varied color versions, are wrinkled initially as a result of the hand dying, drying, chemical treatment and packaging process. Prior to initial use, these backdrops need to have the wrinkles removed with the use of a steamer. If they would have said, "You should expect 5% shrinkage" I may have been expecting a 9.7x20, but when I measured mine, it was 9'x19'. That is a little shorter than 10x20. As far as the backdrop itself, it is ok. Kind of thin but usable for sure. Black looks rich and dark in photos. The ONLY reason for the 4 stars was the size.

I ordered this 10x20 back drop along with another white one and a stand. There was a problem with the stand which originally took some time to sort through but they made it right. The stand and both backdrops arrived promptly. The backdrop was shipped in its own role rather than folded or requiring ironing or other fuss...a very nice touch! I was a bit hesitant at first especially in relation to the thickness of this muslin. While it IS muslin and NOT gauze like many of the super inexpensive versions being sold on Ebay or even here on Amazon, it isn't super thick so I was worried about opacity and unfiromity of coverage. For the price, I figured I'd have to make due and fix in Photoshop....happily that was NOT the case. The muslin performed well and looked very nice in the photos. The black came out a nice deep black and ditto for the white. Not grey, not yellow...black and white as each was supposed to be. The sizing is slightly smaller than 10x20 as mentioned in the item description but the muslin is of a decent enough quality it should wear well. Although originally hesitant and somewhat taken aback by the issue with the stand, this seller followed through and made everything "right". Nice price, nice seller, nice photos with this and the other white backdrop. Thanks!
