Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The EX-Z80, with 8.1 Megapixels, 3x optical zoom, and Exilim Engine 2.0, is a sleek little camera that can turn out big pictures. And although the camera is compact, the LCD isn't-a 2.6 inch wide screen makes it simple to frame your perfect shot.

3 out of 5 stars LENS ERROR   August 2, 2010
Andrea Leung (Austin, Texas, US)
Pros: Camera looks good, feels good. It's a very basic, easy to use point and shoot camera with great shoot modes.

Cons: I didn't have any complaints about it until about a year into owning the camera. Approximately a year after purchasing it, the lens would not come out. Fortunately, warranty covered and it was fine. However, the picture quality was never the same afterwards. The coloring, flash, and lighting was never good enough for the camera to take adequate pictures. I kept it for another year only to have the lens jam and not react again. I'm done with it and I have a Canon SD1300 on the way.

5 out of 5 stars Very happy   October 17, 2009

Bought this camera after reading reveiws and may I say i am very glad I did. This is my 2nd digital, my first had a floppy for memory so you know how old it is right? I did buy a 8 GB card for it and it is plenty for what I do. I bought mine new at around $100.00 and I am puzzeled I see the price going up? The battery stays charged enough for me. I charge it and throw it in my briefcase and it is always ready to go. There are many adjustments and settings to play with and I love that part. The zoom setting gets you close, after taking the shot zoom the photo and it gets you right into the deepest details. I would give this 10 stars if I could but I am only allowed 5.

4 out of 5 stars Works as Advertised   September 15, 2009

With 2 months of use, it has worked as advertised. I have not had the problem mentioned in other reviews with error message. Then again I am very careful with it. It is small which is what I wanted but be warned, buttons are small too. This could be a problem for some users.

Additionally, I did not find maneuvering the menu as intuitive as I would have liked but must admit I am some what challenged in that department. I have figured it out but others will take more/less time depending on your background.

Picture quality is good in normal/sun light. Low light more difficult (it is no SLR). Flash is OK but has "burn"/overexposed some pretty normal shots I thought could have been better.

Best shot feature is handy and works on the dozen or so times I have used it.

I like the focus feature in combination the green/red indicated exposure good/bad.

At times it is hard to tell if the picture taken is in focus on the small viewing screen. You can enlarge it if necessary.

Battery has a separate charger: advantage - can charge one battery while other is in use. Disadvantage - you need to additionally haul the charger along on trips and purchase a second battery if you really want to take advantage of this feature.

Battery life is acceptable but I have found myself short on battery life a couple of times when not making a concerted effort to recharge it.

I would recommend this for the person who wants an "on the go"/easy to carry/standard pictures type camera.

I'm very happy with this camera, has many features and is small enough to be carried anywhere.
